WeWork Philippines, a community platform for creators that provide space and services, reinforces its strong design approach with its newly opened Menarco Tower location and its upcoming location at Milestone at 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) anticipated to open on December 2019.
By evolving space into experience building on the company’s strong design philosophy, the inclusive member-driven experience aims to inspire creativity and to spur collaboration among the local community. Reinforcing community focus through design, the spaces combined aesthetic and function with elements that depict both modern and traditional Filipino design.
Through its new locations at Menarco Tower and Milestone at 5th Avenue, WeWork Philippines aims to build a strong community with its current presence in BGC. Key art pieces at Menarco Tower are accompanied by visible accents from vernacular architectural elements and materials with modern interpretations.
Clad with Terracotta tiles, the Menarco Tower pantry island design is a warm welcoming gathering spot, paying homage to traditional Philippine homes inspired by Spanish architecture. Representing the Bayanihan Spirit, contemporary neon lighting was incorporated to complement the space. The lounge includes canvases of a whale shark, iconic to Cebu and its coastal scenes.
Milestone at 5th Avenue also pays homage to local architectural influences by incorporating local Machuca tiles characterized by intricate border motifs. The homage to local culture is further enhanced with unique Philippine rattan panels as freestanding cabinets. The panels also act as dividers for the community bar and the lounge, providing privacy for the community team and acting as counter space for events.
Connecting people through design, technology, and community, WeWork aims to expand its presence in the Philippines. By incorporating distinct Filipino elements in designing working spaces within the busy business district, WeWork Philippines strives to bring a sense of culture in office environments.
