To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Crate and Barrel in the Philippines, MyHome magazine collaborated with the furniture and home décor brand to transform the atelier of renowned fashion designer Vania Romoff. The project captures the essence of Romoff’s creative space while showcasing Crate and Barrel’s timeless, contemporary pieces. This exciting collaboration reflects the harmonious balance between fashion and interior design. It underscores Crate and Barrel’s decade-long influence on the local design scene.

A Perfect Match: Crate and Barrel and Vania Romoff.

For Romoff, her atelier is more than just a workspace. “I spend most of my week here; it’s my creative sanctuary,” she shares. Designed by her close friend Sarah Canlas, the space was intended to be a calm, inviting environment where her creativity could flourish. “It’s a blank canvas against which my designs come to life,” Romoff says, reflecting the minimalist elegance that defines both her fashion collections and her personal style.

Curating Style with Crate and Barrel

The transformation of Vania Romoff’s atelier was orchestrated by MyHome’s creative team, led by editor-in-chief Geewel Fuster and interior designer Jegs Santos. Their goal was to seamlessly blend Romoff’s fashion-forward yet understated aesthetic with Crate and Barrel’s signature pieces.

“We brainstormed on how to interpret ‘style and substance,’ and Vania came to mind instantly. She embodies that balance so well,” Santos shares.

A Perfect Match: Crate and Barrel and Vania Romoff.

The Crate and Barrel pieces selected for the studio reflect Romoff’s love for clean lines, organic textures, and sculptural forms. The neutral palette of the furniture enhances the serene atmosphere of the atelier. Among Romoff’s favorite pieces is the striking Emerson Mappa Burl Desk, a focal point of the transformation. Another standout is the Winslow Oak Wood Bar Cabinet by Jake Arnold, a piece that evokes a softness she connected with deeply.

These carefully selected pieces embody Crate and Barrel’s core philosophy of balancing style with practicality. Steven Ticzon, Vice President and Business Unit Head of Crate and Barrel Philippines elaborates: “The furniture choices balance practicality with elegance. Vania’s office space is a setting where she can focus on her craft while feeling at home in a stylish, thoughtfully designed environment. The selected décor was based on her atelier’s clean lines, neutral tones, and natural materials.”

The Perfect Harmony of Fashion and Interiors

For Vania Romoff, seeing her atelier through the lens of MyHome and Crate and Barrel was both exciting and inspiring. She shares, “It breathed new life into the studio and gave me a renewed sense of creativity. It just goes to show how a few key pieces can change the entire look of a room instantly.”

A Perfect Match: Crate and Barrel and Vania Romoff.

This collaboration was particularly meaningful for Romoff. It showcased the synergy between her world of fashion and the world of interiors. “Whether in fashion or in design, the key is always in understanding your aesthetic and choosing pieces that reflect that,” she says. Crate and Barrel’s pieces, with their soft curves, rich textures, and enduring appeal, perfectly captured this philosophy.
