Apart from their menus, coffee shops popping up today have something in common–minimalist interiors. Many cafe goers seek a place where not only they can enjoy a cup of latte or tea but also a space where they can focus on finishing a certain task. From nondescript exteriors to all-white interiors, Instagram-worthy minimalist cafes are everywhere

Clean and calm. That is a perfect way to describe this matcharia in Brazil designed by Studio Guilherme Garcia. Green Blood Matcha is a coffee shop specializing in Matcha and a coworking space with stunning minimalist interiors.

The studio explained they sought to escape the traditional, with minimalist references translated into the organic forms that constitute the concept of the project. They used light tones as a base to bring a greater breath to the space and serve as a blank canvas to incorporate the brand’s signature color green at some points within the project.

Since it is a coffee shop and coworking space, the project’s design focuses on the functionality necessary for activities to be carried out quickly within the space. The studio proposed a clean aesthetic for the environment which resulted in a contemplative, calm space without many visual interferences. This allowed the studio to develop some of the furniture present inside the space, including the tables, chairs, and other elements.

The studio also designed the call center furniture and covered it with tile. They used a not-so-conventional material to bring a greater personality to the space. The floors and walls, meanwhile, create a neutral background for the project with their cementitious material coating. The matcha shop’s bathroom offers a surprise to anyone who uses it with the elements of escapism incorporated into it. The studio also used the tiles in the external area of the shop to create a rhythmic background.

Studio Guilherme Garcia has effectively incorporated such elements in this project, creating a space that offers serene aesthetics, functionality, and personality for cafegoers.
