Capiz

A translucent windowpane oyster shell harvested mainly in the Philippines, named after the province of Capiz. Traditionally set into sliding wooden window grids in the bahay na bato, it softens harsh sunlight while admitting diffused light. Today it appears in lamps, screens, and decorative objects.
