Rattan

A flexible, climbing palm native to tropical Asia, whose strong, lightweight canes are woven and bent into furniture, baskets, and lighting. The Philippines, especially Cebu, is renowned for rattan craftsmanship, and designers continue to reinterpret the material in contemporary furniture exported worldwide.
