Leading Architects Share Their Work and Insights at B+Abble 2021

It is rare to get the best of the best of any particular field together in one sitting. In 2021’s edition of B+Abble: A Series of Talks on Contemporary Architecture, Arts, and Design, that rarity will take place. 

B+Abble, is a yearly conference created and organized by Buensalido + Architects, leaders in the local design industry, which aims to give creatives from every field a platform to exchange ideas and improve upon their craft. It started as an internal learning platform in their office, which they started to open up to the public in 2014 in a small coffee shop, and has since evolved into a community of design professionals, creatives, artists, developers, entrepreneurs, educators, and students. From a humble attendance of 80, B+Abblers have grown to 1,200 attendees over two days in 2020. Some of the past speakers include Ivy and Cynthia Almario, Jowee Alviar of Team Manila, Daniel Dela Cruz, Kris Abrigo, Jinggoy Buensuceso, Bambi Tanjutco-Mañosa, AJ Javier, Edson Cabalfin, and Carlo Calma. B+Abble encourages people to think outside the box in their fields of expertise, helping them approach their craft in new and exciting ways. 

This year’s theme is “CONTINUUM: A Progression of Values”, and will be about the importance of seeing one’s discipline as a string of ideas and experiments that lead to new discoveries, where learnings from each experiment inform others, done with the same level of excellence over a prolonged period of time. It is also about accepting change and how it leads to a progressive evolution towards growth and improvement. 

Four icons in the architecture industry will be taking the virtual stage to impart their creative insights including principal of Joey Yupangco + Associate and former Dean of the De La Salle College of St. Benilde School of Design and the Arts Joey Yupangco, Leandro V. Locsin Partners Design Consultant Andy Locsin, Jorge Yulo and Associates Principal Architect Jorge Yulo, and Lor Calma and Partners Design Principal Ed Calma.  

B+Abble 2021 will be happening virtually on October 22 and 23, Friday and Saturday, 2-4PM, thru Zoom, and will be completely FREE, with limited slots. Registration is required thru the links below: 

This year’s institutional partners are Design Center of the Philippines, Creative Industries Philippines, and Foundree Review Center for the Built Environment, and will be a satellite event of Design Week Philippines.
