Tambuli Seaside Resort and Spa of Mactan Island is an already institution, popular among generations of Cebuanos. Located in Buyong Road, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, the resort is 30 minutes away from the Mactan Cebu International Airport, making it accessible for those who are seeking comfort and relaxation. The owner wanted to revamp the structure so Architect Alexius Medalla of Archinamix was enlisted to take on this incredible feat. After consulting with the owner, he was able to identify almost all the trees in the property. His passion for horticulture aided his approach to the whole development.

The resort covers an expansive 11-hectare property. The development includes various amenities in sprawling grounds. The back-of-the-house is discreetly hidden in the basement of the Clubhouse, which offers an uninterrupted view from lobby to the beachfront.

The Clubhouse stretches out in two wings, towards the lobby and the function rooms. A sky lit atrium is at the center of the smaller function rooms leading towards a hallway. The main Function Hall is more modern with high white ceilings, making the area more spacious. The ceiling of the Clubhouse Lobby can be described as ‘aquatic’ as it is created by a sinuous envelope. There are skylights as embellishments that set one’s imagination of what marine life must be like inside coral stone.

The Health and Leisure wing comes up from a ramp, which is made of wood and turf. One may do physical exercise there, for visitors who regularly work out. Right in front of the lobby is the beach, where pools and bridges are incorporated. The pool is reminiscent of the sea, which has a slope that is made for small children to wade in.

The spa is still under construction, as the architect wanted to combine two different ground covers. At the elevation of the spa, vines are intended to extend from the garden to the inclined roof, making it seamless with the vegetation surrounding the area.

For the spa’s irrigation system, Architect Medalla involved both natural and made-made processes in which an existing depression is converted into a lake where the water would naturally flow and be filtered afterwards.

Tambuli Seaside Resort and Spa is considered a luxurious escape, surrounded by nature and lush terrains that exude tranquility and calmness, making it the perfect getaway for relaxation and family time.
