Asia's Largest Interior Design Competition Returns with 3 Filipino Contestants and 1 Filipina Judge!
You can call it the ‘American Idol’ or ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ of Interior Design. The Apartment TV Show is back for another season and it’s even bigger and bolder! The reality show competition puts together 12 people from all over southeast Asia to create dazzling spaces. The Apartment TV Show gives the contestants design briefs that will test their ability and creativity, each challenge comes with razor-thin budgets and limited time. Viewers can definitely learn a thing or two about styling and space planning from every weekly challenge!
In the show’s third season, Cebu-based interior designer best friends Deankie Latonio and Tiara Sison won The Apartment TV show back in 2013. This year, there are three representatives from the Philippines designing to win the reality TV competition. Namely, Interior Decorator Jesy Cruz of Alero Design Studio, Interior Designer Eugene del Rosario, and Fil-Kiwi Fashion Designer Stephanie Dods. With them are nine other designers and design enthusiasts from all over Southeast Asia, some of which don’t even have a design background! In the mix is a range of people from a make-up artist to a model! In 12 weeks, each of them will prove that they have the endurance and passion for design. The grand prize is a two bedroom apartment in UMLand’s D’Lagoon Iskandar, Malaysia.
The Apartment TV Show’s sixth season also premiers the first ever Filipina judge. Interior designer and social media influencer Cat Arambulo-Antonio is one of the two new judges. Joining her has a newbie judge is upcoming New York Interior Designer Tyler Wisler. Wisler also won an interior design TV show before turning into a host on The Apartment. Returning on the show is host and mentor Jamie Durie and principal judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
The Apartment: Passion for Design will premier this March 22, Thursday at 9PM on the Sony Channel.
