The inaugural virtual gala didn’t just highlight its winners, but their skilled and competent team of judges as well
In what we now call the “new normal”, fêtes of any kind have quickly transitioned from physical gatherings to digital ones. This is why instead of having a face-to-face event everyone has already grown accustomed to, PropertyGuru Group held the 8th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards through their website and partner channels, which was aired last November 25, 2020. The inaugural virtual gala format would not have been successful without the delighted participation of esteemed judges such as Christophe Vicic, Cyndy Tan Jarabata, and Jean Jacquelyn Nathania de Castro.

Christophe Vicic, the Chairperson of the judging panel in the country’s leading real estate awards program, is currently the Country Head of Jones Lang LaSalle Philippines, Inc. In his over 35 years of professional experience, he has been given the opportunity to work for international corporations across many nations in Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa. Thus, his extensive grasp on real estate was surely applied and challenged in judging last year’s Property Awards. Christophe even mentioned beforehand that the dedicated team of judges were eager to review and assess all submissions and entries.
President of TAJARA Leisure & Hospitality Group Inc. Cyndy Tan Jarabata, who said that there is currently a big opportunity in developing more smart cities, was also part of the acclaimed panel of judges as its longest-serving judge. There’s no doubt her contribution to the most recent gala was of the utmost importance given that she has diverse experience extending 20 years in the hospitality, leisure, and tourism industry, as well as being the inaugural chairperson of the Philippines Property Awards judging panel from 2013 to 2015. Her involvement in TAJARA has also led her to engage in international relations with clients from Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, China, and Thailand.
Like Christophe and Cyndy, Jean Jacquelyn Nathania de Castro was a judge in the virtual affair. Jean is the CEO of ESCA Inc., a full-service engineering consultancy firm working with the Philippines’ leading developers on residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, which makes her more than knowledgeable in choosing the winners of the event. According to Jean, who was also recently appointed as the first female chair of the Urban Land Institute Philippines, “The best thing about being a judge [at the PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards] is getting to see all these projects for the first time, and getting to meet and listen to the developers on the thought process behind a project. It’s nice to be able to see Philippine creativity and innovation for the first time.”
