1 | Art Deco with a Modern Filipino Touch

Owner Alfonso, wanted a full-on Art Deco style for his 120+ square meter condo in BGC, but the design style could be heavy for such a tight space. So, the owner’s interior designer, Sophia, made subtle hints of the Art Deco theme with the geometric shapes and metallic details. Sophia then added some Pinoy twist through the owner’s art collection. Some pieces from Rubio and Legaspi add a Filipino flair to the unit although Alfonso admits that this is only a fraction of his collection, Sophia curated the pieces that would work in the space.

2 | Scandinavian Chic meets Filipino Flair

This 300-sqm condo marries Scandinavian chic with Filipino flair. It is owned by a family with Nordic and Scandinavian roots that moved to Manila a few years back. In their new Filipino home, the family adorned their space with Filipino-designed and -made furniture. The warmth of the Pinoy pieces create a harmonious living space with the Scandinavian lightness and coolness.

3 | Rustic and Modern Filipino

A businesswoman in her 40s, the owner uses the 93-sqm homey and rustic condo as a welcoming haven after returning from business and holiday trips. Interior designer Rizelle Alvarez, infused modernism to traditional Filipino design by using rattan for the chairs in the living room, and pairing it with bubblegum pink cushions for a modern Filipino design twist. The rest of the design pairings in the living room are eclectic: a plush navy sofa, a stone and metal center table, and a classic Persian-style carpet for a touch of global into the aesthetic.

4 | Filipino Moderne À La Cebuano

The unit, designed by proud true-blooded Cebuano interior designer Rock Robins, can easily be described as Pinoy Modern with its combination of wood, geometric elements and eclectic color mix. Vito Selma’s Hanako coffee table is a testament to Philippine talent and quality, adding a modern twist to the traditional table with a geometric pattern. So does world-renowned Cebuano furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue’s Amaya dining table at the dining area.
