Upon turnover, he knew the unit needed some sprucing up to entice potential renters. Being based in Singapore, he needed someone from Manila who could fulfill his vision. Luckily, his friend knew interior designer Kenj So. “I used to be a part of a design firm and this is the very first project I have done on my own, am just glad the client was very trusting,” shares Kenj. Rough finihsed pipes and subway tiles add personality to this nook of the loft. Placed in front of the kitchen is a breakfast bar that transforms into a dining table for six people. The wood detials add warmth to the cold industrial loft. Elevating areas can segregate areas from the rest of the unit without using dividers. Vintage trinkets and mementos found on the TV console were purchased by the owner from flea markets abroad.

The only request the owner had for his bedroom is the headboard cubby where he could display his favorite items. Underneath the bed are drawers that serve as additional storage space The living room was elevated to visually separate it from the rest of the unit. Elevating areas can segregate areas from the rest of the unit without using dividers. By the bedroom is a luggage coffee table customized by the owner himself. “I’m into DIY-ing stuff. I got into the habit of try to do things on my own,” he shares. On the cement wall is a world map mural hand-painted by the designer’s uncle. The yellow lamp and red trash bin add color to the very industrial space.
