There is a part of Saigon where suburban residential areas are placed side by side with the industrial zone. A place where one’s neighbor could be a mid-sized factory. The environmental impact of the factories in the area does not hinder residents and builders from creating a dream home. Rather it pressed them into creating a home that can co-exist with such challenges.

H House was built in this area. Created by AD9 Architects for a young couple, the house design was inspired by local houses in central Vietnam. The house facade boasts a revolving door system. It invites natural light to envelope the whole house. The 8 revolving doors also regulate outside environmental factors like dust, noise and uncertain weather.

Natural light seeping thru the skylight and from the facade is a common setting throughout the spaces inside the 256 square meter house. This creates a positive vibe that the architects envisioned for the house. The spaces of the house interconnect. There is no division between indoor and outdoor, every space flows into each other.

Moreover, the space is abundant with plants and trees. All are positioned tastefully for relaxation purposes. The sunlight is a huge factor in creating the ambiance. It dictates the mood inside the quirky house. The team hoped to create a happy home for the occupants by connecting them with nature and possibly altering how one lives in Vietnam’s suburban setting.
