Greene: sliding glass doors with no visible bottom tracks

Whether you have an open floor plan or just want to create a cozier space in your home, the right room divider makes all the difference. Glass doors infuse spaces with a clean, contemporary vibe. And perhaps the most attractive aspect of sliding glass doors is their aesthetic appeal. They make fine additions to homes with minimalist themes.
Using a glass partition system is an interesting way of connecting spaces, ensuring a continuous flow between them. For closets, sliding doors provide the largest opening for reaching your clothes and don’t come off the tracks like bi-fold doors.

Designed by Piero Lissoni, Greene is a self-bearing system of floor-to-ceiling glass doors (sliding and fixed) with no visible bottom tracks, exuding a sense of ease and sophistication. One can enhance or filter the amount of light in a room as Greene comes in wide selection of color options including: back-painted frosted glass in white, dove-grey, and coffee; transparent glass; and smokey gray glass.

Greene doors are made of 6-mm-thick tempered glass that can go as high as 3 meters with a maximum width of 1.5 meters. Frames come in anodized aluminium finished in matte black and can be ordered as single or multiple panels. Depending on where and how you use Greene sliding glass doors, one can easily change the perception of physical borders. ![]()

The Greene system is considered self-bearing because it is engineered to be structurally independent, spanning from floor to ceiling. This design allows the weight of the unit to be managed entirely through the vertical frames and top-mounted tracks. A significant aesthetic benefit of this engineering is the total absence of visible bottom tracks, which facilitates a seamless transition between rooms and ensures the floor material remains uninterrupted.
Designed specifically for grand, high-ceiling environments, these panels are constructed from 6-mm-thick tempered glass. They can reach a maximum height of 3 meters, which is approximately 9.8 feet, and a maximum width of 1.5 meters per panel. These generous dimensions allow for expansive glass surfaces that maximize natural light while maintaining the structural integrity required for such large scales.
Light and visibility are managed through a diverse range of glass finishes tailored to the needs of the space. Transparent glass can be used for maximum light and a feeling of open borders, while smokey gray glass provides a sophisticated filter to reduce glare. For areas requiring complete visual privacy, back-painted frosted glass in shades like white, dove-grey, or coffee allows soft light to permeate the room without sacrificing seclusion.
The frames are crafted from anodized aluminum, a material chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion. To create a sharp, architectural contrast against the glass panels, the aluminum is finished in a sleek matte black coating. This flexible system can be configured in various ways, including single panels or a combination of multiple sliding and fixed panels depending on the room’s layout.
By utilizing floor-to-ceiling glass and eliminating the bottom threshold, the Greene system effectively blurs the line between different functional areas of a home. This allows designers to create acoustic borders that block out sound without visually closing off a room. Depending on the glass selection, the system can either maintain an airy, open-plan feel or instantly redefine a space into a series of private, quiet enclaves.
