Whether due to the physical threats of the pandemic itself, or the underlying mental health and wellness issues that come alongside it, the need for a healthier and organized space could not be stressed enough at this time. With all the information available online, it’s tempting to think that implementing systems strategies ourselves would be a walk in the park.

Mica Canto
Mica Canto aims to empower people with organized living.

In my attempt to apply what I know and researched about creating healthy spaces, I realized that planning for an organized space may require more rigor than I thought; we need counsel. I just could not help but remember Mica Canto, the founder of Tidily Ever After, someone I’ve followed through the years and whose platform I have grown to trust for organizing, customizing, and planning storage.

Simplicity and order enhance the livability of spaces and allow interiors to shine.

One misconception is living with less means you can’t have nice things. Inversely, it’s because you are more intentional about what you allow into your space (or life) that you learn to be more selective.

Tidily Ever After, with the leadership of Mica, has given many the inspiration to take control of their lives by taking control of their own homes. Though one may look at it as an online hub for organizing tips and tricks, it is way more than that. Mica’s engagement includes mostly planning the spaces with organized living in mind.

At this point you may be thinking, is this the same as what we know of as Marie Kondo Style? How would this be different? We asked the founder herself.

BP: What is the story behind Tidily Ever After?

MC: Personally, I’ve always been drawn to more creative pursuits and see the value of living more minimalist than most people. To me, there is an Art of Decluttering because there really is a method to doing it right. When done properly, it can be so much more than a quick sorting of what should be kept, recycled, or sold. Before we even begin to get our hands dirty, I like to discuss what the client needs from their space. It can create a pivotal shift in the way we see our homes and our lives and it can be empowering.

BP: What are the misconceptions about organized living or Tidily Ever After?

Mica Canto: One misconception is living with less means you can’t have nice things. Inversely, it’s because you are more intentional about what you allow into your space (or life) that you learn to be more selective. Another one is that minimalism is defined as the “number” of things you own, when it should be about learning to simplify without losing quality.

Cherished possessions can be maintained and used more easily with organization.

BP: What would be your definition of a Healthy space? What is the importance of having a tidy home?

Mica Canto: Prior to the pandemic, most of us would be so focused on our lives outside of our houses that we rarely saw our spaces as the sanctuaries they were meant to be. Because of the lockdowns that came with the past year, there has been a total shift in the way we appreciate our homes.

BP: We’ve also noticed the launch of Tidily Home, what is the idea behind the brand?

Mica Canto: This was my pandemic pivot project. Since I couldn’t organize in-person because of social distancing parameters, I thought this would be the best way to reach more moms and help them get their homes in order. My intent was to have the Tidily touch more accessible to clients who either didn’t have the time or budget to fully customize their whole space or didn’t want outsiders in their homes.
