The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced the 2023 finalists for the prestigious international architecture competition. This year, the Philippines has yet again broken its record, having 11 local projects and 11 firms making it to the shortlist, an increase from 10 projects and eight firms last year.
This year’s list of entries is composed of a diverse selection of projects, such as a farm resort, a mixed-use building, micro-housing, and a sports complex. More new names from the country were also recognized alongside a few WAF veterans.

The finalists will go on to compete live at the festival which will happen at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on November 29, 2023 to December 1, 2023. They will present their projects to a panel of esteemed judges. This year, Architect Sudarshan Khadka of Leandro V. Locsin Partners will join the festival’s panel of jurors following the steps of last year’s jurors former WAF winners Benjamin Mendoza of BAAD and William Ti, Jr. of WTA Architecture and Design Studio.
