Panasonic Brings 2 New Revolutionary Products to the Philippines
Panasonic unveiled two groundbreaking additions to its Philippine product line at an intimate gathering held at Whitespace Manila in Makati on March 5th. In partnership with Rockford Marketing Corporation (RMC) and BluPrint, the global consumer electronics manufacturer showcased their newest DC Motor Ceiling Fans and Stainless Steel Storage Water Heater. Both products are equipped with state-of-the-art Japanese technology and comprehensive safety features to reduce energy consumption and ensure durability. Here are the ways these innovations are set to transform the daily lives of Filipinos and offer a glimpse into the future of home comfort.
Establishing a Stronger Foothold in Filipino Households

For over 57 years in the Philippines, Panasonic has been driven by its customer-focused business philosophy. They continue to seek and address overlooked community challenges by developing product solutions that enhance comfort and convenience. Particularly, they see untapped potential for improving home cooling in the country.

Panasonic Air Conditioning Philippines (PACPH) President Akihiro Yamaguchi revealed that less than 10 percent of the Filipino households have ceiling fans. As more Filipinos rely on air conditioners, especially with the dry season approaching, he also noted the higher electricity consumption it entails. This highlights the need for more energy-efficient appliances than traditional air conditioning.

“Compared to air conditioners, ceiling fans [have a] demand themselves. They are still not that big. It means [there] is much potential [to introduce them] here in the Philippines,” Yamaguchi stresses.

Similarly, Harry Sarmiento, MEO, Director, and Center Head of the Marketing Center of Panasonic Philippines disclosed that the adoption of water heaters in the country is extremely minimal.
“The penetration ratio of water heaters in the Philippines is very low. So, not all households have any water heaters at the moment. That is why we are very confident that together with Rockford Marketing [Corporation], we can further enhance this business,” Sarmiento assures.
These market gaps are precisely why Panasonic introduced their latest line of DC Motor Ceiling Fans and Stainless Steel Storage Water Heater. Through these products, they envision meeting the specific needs of Filipino households and provide them with energy-efficient, safe, and comfortable living solutions.
The Smart Design of DC Motor Ceiling Fans

Unlike ordinary overhead fans, the DC Motor Ceiling Fans present greater functionality and value-added features. One of their notable advantages is the 1/f YURAGI function, which is a shifting airflow that recreates the feeling of soft, natural wind. This advanced algorithm for modulating wind speed and control allows you to enjoy a comfortable cooling effect without dropping your body temperature.
Another key benefit is the direct current (DC) motor itself. Given its lighter motor polarity, the fans run on lesser electrical energy than those with alternating current (AC) motors. This also makes these ceiling fans operate with minimal noise, creating a more serene and relaxing atmosphere.
To further cater to the users’ preferences, DC Motor Ceiling Fans also offer nine-sequential speeds and up to eight-hour timer and sleep mode settings. Furthermore, their polypropylene fiber glass blades ensure a powerful air circulation and extended durability.

Safety is also a paramount consideration. Panasonic equipped their high-tech fans with comprehensive safety features. A safety wire keeps the fan motor from falling, even if it comes loose from the rod. There is also a built-in cut off safety switch and a current fuse to prevent accidents caused by mechanical failures. Meanwhile, the blade safety plate holds the blades firmly in place.

By combining intelligence, efficiency, and reliability, DC Motor Ceiling Fans offer optimal air circulation for Filipino homes, especially when paired with air conditioning units.
“Using an air conditioner with a ceiling fan, that combination is very efficient. If you are using only the air conditioner in the room for a long time during April and May, it costs a lot. But when you put an additional ceiling fan, electricity costs are much cheaper. That’s the one advantage the consumer can feel,” Yamaguchi advises.
DC Motor Ceiling Fans are available in three-, four-, five-, and eight-blade designs.
Built to Last: The Panasonic Water Heater

The Panasonic Stainless Steel Storage Water Heater prides itself on excellent and reliable protection features. From its exterior, the IPX4 case already promises complete water resistance against splashes from any angle and high-pressure sprays of up to 10 liters per minute. It is also designed with a built-in earth leakage breaker to automatically cut off power in the event of an electrical fault.
Inside its high-grade steel cover is a non-combustible curved-shaped insulated styrofoam to reduce the risk of fire and enhance thermal efficiency. The robust stainless steel tank itself is engineered to withstand temperatures up to 90°Celsius. This results in minimized corrosion and lower potential of bacterial growth in water.
Replacing the traditional anode bar with a nickel-plated heating element also helps keep the stored water cleaner. According to Sarmiento, this design choice is particularly beneficial for the unique water conditions found in the Philippines.
“ Here in the Philippines, our water is quite hard. So, with this nickel-plated [heating element], it’s good and it’s very durable and it can really accommodate hard water and even salty water. So, it can also be used even from the beach,” Sarmiento explains.

Since the tank is both oxidation-resistant internally and externally, it exhibits resilience against high water pressures, corrosive effects of dissolved minerals, and degradation caused by prolonged use. This inherent strength not only extends the unit’s operational lifespan but also facilitates its eventual recycling, contributing to a more sustainable product lifecycle.
Moreover, this Panasonic water heater’s design translates to significant cost savings for the consumer. The simplified installation process, coupled with reduced repair needs due to its robust construction, minimizes upfront and long-term expenses. The efficient heating system, which rapidly and consistently raises the maximum water volume from 20° to 75°Celsius, further makes it a financially prudent and environmentally conscious choice.
Another Milestone in Panasonic’s Fruitful Journey

RMC Sales and Marketing Director Jam Cua expressed immense pride in the company’s partnership with Panasonic. She highlighted that over the corporation’s nearly 50 years in the Philippine market, they’ve witnessed the Japanese brand’s growth from initially distributing a limited range of water heaters to a broad portfolio of innovative products.
“ With a grateful heart, I would like to honor our Panasonic family for continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation and for entrusting us with the opportunity to bring your products here in the Philippines,” Cua conveys. “ We work closely together with Panasonic in these innovative inventions and we are incredibly proud to be their exclusive distributor for both shower heaters and ceiling fans.”

Likewise, BluPrint Editor-in-Chief Geewel Fuster acknowledged the strong synergy between Panasonic’s commitment to meaningful living and BluPrint’s dedication to showcasing innovation in architecture and design.
“ It is my honor to present Panasonic, one of the most iconic brands and partners of Rockford in the country. A brand that has been committed to the progress and holistic development of meaningful living in architecture and design,” Fuster says. “ As a leading platform dedicated to showcasing innovative ideas and exceptional craftsmanship, BluPrint aims to connect designers, architects, and homeowners with the best in the industry. And this event allows a collective vision that celebrates not only beautiful products, but also the stories and ideas behind them.”
The new Panasonic ceiling fans and water heaters are available at Metal Lite, Shopee, Lazada, ACE Hardware, CW Home Depot, Abensons, and over 100 traditional hardware stores nationwide.
