This New Front-Load Washing Machine Can Assess Your Clothes’ Fabric
Unveiled in South Korea last July 2, LG’s latest front-loader washing machine is equipped with the company’s new Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) with ‘deep learning,’ optimized for the Asian market. “With a growing portfolio of differentiated washing machines, LG will continue to strengthen its market leadership across the Asia region,” says LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company president Song Dae-hyun.
With the new AI DD technology with deep learning, the new front-loader washing machine is able to perform finely-tuned washing patterns, automatic detection of the weight of the laundry, as well as an accurate fabric assessment. LG says: “This reduces the occurrence of fabric damage by 18%, prolonging the lifespan of clothes.”

It is also powered by TurboWash 360 and integrates Fast Wash, which takes 39 minutes to complete one wash with 5 kilograms of laundry, 34% faster than the conventional TurboWash™ option. Another feature of is Steam™+ that neutralizes 99.9% of allergens through a special sterilizing cycle, and removes 30% of the creases on clothes via the Wrinkle Care.
Although the washing machine is loaded with new features, its energy consumption is still very much manageable. The washer boasts an energy rating of A+++-50 percent and is optimized to be controlled and monitored via the SmartThinQ™ app. It can also be turned into TWINWash™ with LG Mini Wash.
