Founded in 1925, Bang & Olufsen celebrates one hundred years of design by unveiling three special editions for its Centennial Collection.

To pay homage to a century of uncompromising design and sound, the collection harmoniously combines archival details with contemporary craftsmanship. It reimagined three of the brand’s iconic products: Beoplay H100, Beosound A5, and Beosound A9 5th Gen.

“The Centennial Collection honors our past, celebrates our present, and looks to the future. It is a tribute to the icons that have shaped Bang & Olufsen and to the enduring values that define our legacy,” states Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.

In celebration of Bang & Olufsen’s history, the collection pays homage to designs from its defining decades. This begins with the checkered grill patterns of early radios and continues through the vibrant color palette of the 1970s.

With each detail carrying the spirit of its time, each product in the collection is finished with the B&O Est. 1925 Anniversary logo, honoring the founder’s vision of Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen: “A never-failing will to create only the best.”

Beoplay H100 Century Brown

Beoplay H100 are headphones that combine immersive sound with quality craftsmanship, designed to stand the test of time. It is optimized for Dolby Atmos and features titanium drives and advanced noise cancellation for an elevated listening experience.

The product’s color palette complements one another: the leather headband in Century Red, the inner headband and leather ear cushions in Chestnut Brown, and the glass disc in a natural silver tone featuring the anniversary logo. These colors are paired with Century Blue detailing, providing a vibrant contrast.

These refined leather accents echo the design codes of the past decade. Along with the leather pouch in Century Red and its Century Blue accents, the design crafted a contemporary collectible infused with archival character.

Beosound A5 Century Weave

Beosound A5 is a powerful portable speaker designed for effortless indoor and outdoor listening. This special edition is reminiscent of the brand’s earliest radios, featuring design elements such as a paper raffia weave in Beige and Chesnut Brown, which reinterprets the iconic checkered speaker grills of the 1950s.

The speaker also features a brushed aluminum frame, an element the brand perfected in the 1980s, now its signature material. It is paired with a Century Red leather strap and anniversary engravings, including a Century Blue cable that adds a touch of playfulness.

Beyond the design elements, the product features WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity, long-lasting battery life, and built-in wireless charging. This speaker provides acoustic advancements in a compact package.

Beosound A9 Century Blue

The Beosound A9 is an icon of minimalist design, uniting sculptural form with room-filling sound powered by seven finely tuned drivers. Wrapped in Kvadrat’s Centennial Cadence fabric, this reimagined edition features a bold checkered weave in Century Blue and Chesnut Brown. In contrast, the striking Century Blue feet and cable add a vibrant touch.

Its color palette offers a dynamic, contemporary vision. Meanwhile, its natural aluminum rings and legs are finished with a heritage-inspired brushed treatment, recalling the brand’s iconic 1980s aesthetic. The final touch is the anniversary engravings that honor the founders’ enduring vision.

Hundred Years of Quality Sounds

Bang & Olufsen has been pushing the boundaries of audio technology ever since its conception, placing itself at the forefront of acoustic innovation. Today, the founders’ devotion and vision remain the foundation of the company. Each product is characterized by its quality sound, and timeless design.

The audio brand’s products are sold worldwide in Bang & Olufsen stores or on their website at bang-olufsen.com, as well as in select retailers.

Frequently Asked Questions

The collection reinterprets three iconic products—the Beoplay H100, Beosound A5, and Beosound A9 5th Gen—by integrating archival design codes into current hardware. This includes reintroducing the checkered grill patterns from 1950s radios and the brushed aluminum treatments perfected in the 1980s. Technically, these “heritage” shells house the latest advancements, such as Dolby Atmos optimization, titanium drivers, and high-fidelity Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, ensuring the legacy design meets 2026 performance standards.

The Beoplay H100 is engineered as a high-end wearable acoustic system. Its technical core features titanium drivers and advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). For the Centennial edition, the craftsmanship is elevated through a sophisticated material palette: a Century Red leather headband and Chestnut Brown ear cushions. A natural silver glass disc serves as the interface, featuring the commemorative anniversary logo, merging tactile luxury with digital precision.

The Beosound A5 uses a paper raffia weave in Beige and Chestnut Brown to mimic the aesthetic of early checkered speaker grills from the 1950s. This traditional material is paired with a signature brushed aluminum frame, a material B&O pioneered for durability and acoustic neutrality. Despite its retro appearance, the unit is a modern powerhouse featuring a long-lasting battery, built-in wireless charging, and a robust portable acoustic package designed for both indoor and outdoor environments.

The Beosound A9 is defined by its circular, furniture-like form that houses seven finely tuned drivers for room-filling sound. The Centennial edition is wrapped in Kvadrat’s Centennial Cadence fabric, a high-performance acoustic textile featuring a Century Blue and Chestnut Brown weave. Its technical stability is provided by natural aluminum legs with a 1980s-inspired brushed finish, proving that a speaker can function as a piece of high-art sculpture without compromising on complex driver arrangements.

These colors are not merely decorative but serve as a chromatic timeline of the brand’s history. “Century Red” and “Century Blue” are vibrant contrasts that recall the bold palettes of the 1970s, a decade where B&O pushed the boundaries of industrial design. By applying these colors to modern cables, straps, and feet, the collection creates a visual “pop” that distinguishes the 100th-anniversary units from standard models while honoring the brand’s mid-century aesthetic risks.

How Large-Format Tiles Create Seamless and Luxurious Interiors

Flooring can profoundly influence how a space is experienced. Long before furniture and finishes are introduced, the floor establishes a visual field that shapes movement, light, and proportion.
