Delving into the Design of Ayala Land Premier’s Park Villas with Yabu Pushelberg
Living in Makati means being a stone’s throw away from business centers, shopping malls, restaurants, and commercial and lifestyle hubs. With Park Villas, you get all that and more. Located across the Ayala Triangle gardens, this new Makati address from Ayala Land Premier, Ayala Land’s premium residential brand, elevates city living. We focus on how it feels, how it flows, and how it enhances the experience of those who live there,” said George Yabu at a lounge discussion titled “The Art of Design: A Conversation with Yabu Pushelberg” last Oct. 23 at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City.

Human-Centric Approach
When designing spaces, the duo sees people, not just empty areas waiting to be filled. Glenn Pushelberg described their process. “We think, if you have a 610-square meter apartment, that you’re going to be entertaining. You have [an] extended family. You need a living room that’s of the right space. You need the proximity of things. You need walk-in closets,” he said.
Yabu Pushelberg has designed notable luxury properties globally, including Aman Residences Tokyo, Park Hyatt Shenzhen, and Four Seasons New York Downtown. The duo is known for their modern, timeless, and elegant aesthetic. Yet, they also employed local sensibilities when designing Park Villas.
“The clientele of Park Villas are individuals who have seen the world in all its grandeur—many of them likely own properties across the globe. It was crucial for us to design at that level of sophistication. At the same time, we wanted to weave in the subtle nuances of Filipino life and bring an experience that can only truly be appreciated here,” shared Glenn Pushelberg.

He added that cultural nuances are always a consideration. “We can’t impose our aesthetic on you…but we can help create the right frame for you.”
