BluPrint marked a significant milestone for the Philippine design community. The country’s leading authority in architecture and design officially launched its newest seminal publication, “Design Conversations.” Hosted at VCDC M Residences in Katipunan, the event was a vibrant gathering of the nation’s foremost architects, designers, industry leaders, and esteemed guests, all coming together to celebrate a new chapter in architectural dialogue.

“Design Conversations” commemorates BluPrint’s enduring commitment to capturing the evolving language of Philippine architecture and design, and a collective expression of the visionaries who shaped its pages. The stylish interiors of M Residences provided a fitting backdrop for an evening dedicated to architectural excellence. Guests were welcomed into an atmosphere brimming with anticipation and the promise of engaging discourse. Cocktails and canapés curated by the renowned Chef Chele (of Gallery by Chele, Asador Alfonso, and more) circulated, setting a convivial tone.

Setting the Stage for Dialogue

The formal program commenced with BluPrint’s Editor-in-Chief, Arch. Geewel Fuster, taking the stage. “Good evening to all of you,” she began, addressing the distinguished guests, “architects of vision and builders of dreams. We are here today not just to celebrate our craft, but to acknowledge the profound impact it has on shaping our world, our lives, and our future.” Fuster spoke passionately about how Philippine architecture and design continue to “plot an incredible mark on this new era.”

She elaborated on the book’s purpose: “Tonight is a celebration of a design conversation which brings together the work of experts, architects, designers, and editors… The aim of this effort is twofold: to push our limit and responsibility to embrace innovation while honoring the legacy of our predecessors and to strive harder to create buildings that are not only functional and beautiful—but also sustainable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our communities.”

With evident pride, Fuster described the volume as “a special book with projects comprehending the intangible experience of past, exploring what is inspiring today and contemplating about the future.”

She then took a heartfelt moment to acknowledge the “catalyzing forces” behind the book, extending her gratitude to an esteemed roster of contributors and designers . These include:

Ed Calma

Anthony Nazareno

Jorge Yulo

Bea Valdes, Marga Valdes-Trinidad, and Mike Aguas

Domini Galicia

Sudar Khadka

Benjie Mendoza

and Tina Fernandez.

A special mention was paid to former BluPrint EIC, Ms. Judith Torres, for her “impactful dedication to the industry leading to this glorious collaboration.”

The BluPrint editorial team, writers, creative and marketing teams, and One Mega Group management, including AGC PH CEO, Archie Carrasco, AGC PH Vice President for Business Growth & Strategic Partnerships, Randolf Palanca, One Mega Group Chief Operating Officer, Ramon Galicia, and One Mega Group Vice President for Lifestyle Media Brands, Apples Aberin, were also lauded for their unwavering support.

A Partnership in Vision

A key partner for the evening, Victor Consunji Development Corporation (VCDC), was warmly thanked. Fuster introduced VCDC’s Founder and CEO, Victor Consunji, as “an anchor in the real estate industry.” Consunji delivered his remarks, expressing VCDC’s gratitude to be part of BluPrint’s celebration and highlighting the alignment of VCDC’s values with BluPrint’s beliefs in championing creative and thoughtful design in the country.

The highlight of the evening, the official book launch, followed. An AVP played before BluPrint EIC Geweel Fuster, One Mega Group Vice President for Lifestyle Media Brands Apples Aberin, One Mega Group Chief Operating Officer Ramon Galicia, and VCDC Founder Victor Consunji, alongside Rachel Carrasco, took the stage for a celebratory toast. “Here’s to the architects, designers, editors, and the thinkers who continue to build the structures that celebrate our culture… And to conversations that challenge, inspire, and move design forward,” toasted Fuster. “Cheers to the next chapter in Philippine architecture and design!”

The excitement continued with a raffle segment where one fortunate guest took home a luxurious Herman Miller Aeron Chair, courtesy of CWC Interiors, adding an extra layer of delight to the festivities.

As the formal program concluded, guests were invited to embark on a tour of the M Residences Model Units – Kiara, Elise, and Aerin – guided by VCDC representatives, while continuing to enjoy the culinary treats by Chef Chele. The invitation to explore these thoughtfully designed spaces perfectly complemented the evening’s theme, allowing the “design conversations” to continue in a tangible setting. Copies of “Design Conversations” were available for purchase, allowing attendees to take a piece of the evening’s inspiration home.

Flooring can profoundly influence how a space is experienced. Long before furniture and finishes are introduced, the floor establishes a visual field that shapes movement, light, and proportion. This is where large-format tiles are particularly effective. By reducing the number of grout lines across a floor or wall, they create a more continuous surface. The […]
