When we think of medical institutions, sterile environments and long waiting times often come to mind. Harsh white lighting, impersonal corridors, and clinical functionality dominate our perception of these spaces. It’s ironic that hospitals, meant to heal, can feel inhospitable. Belo Nexa, located on the ground floor of One Ayala, refreshingly subverts this trope.

From the moment you step inside, it challenges traditional notions of what a clinic should be. The double-height ceiling immediately offers a sense of openness, a stark contrast to the cramped quarters of traditional medical facilities. This design choice is intentional, setting the stage for a new approach—one that prioritizes luxury, comfort, and a seamless patient experience.

Into the Nexus

Belo Nexa’s reception area combines a neutral palette, plush seating, and low-profile tables for a refined and inviting ambiance.

Belo Nexa presents a modern aesthetic rooted in contemporary elegance. Designed by Budji Layug, it exemplifies Belo Medical Group’s dedication to transforming medical spaces into welcoming environments. A striking glass wall with vertical louvers filters soft, diffused light into the space, creating a calming atmosphere. The flooring, composed of elegant marble with natural veining, enhances the luxurious ambiance, setting the tone for an altogether different medical experience.

A key showpiece in the clinic is the custom chandelier. The lighting installation, designed by Kenneth Cobonpue, blends organic forms with intricate craftsmanship. It incorporates wire mesh, woven to form delicate, net-like structures, juxtaposed with perforated metal accents.

These materials contrast beautifully—the cool translucency of the mesh balancing the warm, reflective qualities of the metal. The layered arrangement and varying sizes of the elements evoke celestial bodies in suspension, adding an ethereal quality to the space.

A VIP Experience

Belo Nexa and its commitment to luxury extends to its consultation rooms, which are designed to be plush, cozy, and comfortable. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the finishes, contributes to an elevated experience.

Every element in Belo Nexa combines to form a perfect marriage of technology and elegant design. The sleek stone finishes, glass and metal accents, and curated artworks surround patients, transforming the medical experience into something far beyond the ordinary. And this harmonizes perfectly with Belo’s own ethos.

“Beauty is not about exaggeration, but about proportion, symmetry, and precision,” Kho states. “Just as an artist considers form and a scientist relies on data, Belo integrates mathematics, science, and artistic intuition to craft results that look effortless, yet are meticulously designed.”

A New Era of Healthcare

Belo Medical Group is the only institution in the Philippines certified by the Department of Tourism to offer services for medical tourism. This certification positions the clinic as a strong competitor against regional rivals in Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
