What Can You Expect from DXT and Kohler’s Vision of Designing for Possibility?

Founded in 1962, President Audrey Go inherited DXT from her parents. “In many ways, my parents spent more time with this company than they ever did with us as they built the company. For us, this business is our family’s contribution to the Filipinos [and to] the local industry,” Go shares.

DXT’s partnership with Kohler marks another milestone in the brand’s dedication to Filipino households. Founded in 1873, Kohler has been the leading brand in bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Its extensive range of products, such as faucets, sinks, toilets, and bidets, is now available in the Philippines through this partnership.

“Things like the creativity and the courage that we used to have in bringing all of these innovative materials and having the eye for things that people would come to the showroom to look for that they never had, or nobody else had—those are kind of the values and ideals that I knew we couldn’t just let it fade away,” Go expresses.

Through its newly launched Kohler showroom, Go is revamping the brand’s deep commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.

What Makes DXT’s Kohler Showroom an Experiential Space?

The showroom was designed in collaboration with the head office of Kohler. DXT’s Business Development and Specifications Manager, Mao Muros, states, “We wanted this showroom to be very experiential. I think most showrooms just showcase the products side by side, but we wanted to have a curated area for each of the collections, and also a designated area for the ones that are most accessible for Kohler clients.”

DXT was responsible for creating the floor plan, while Kohler curated the location for each of the collections. “We wanted to feel like it’s an actual bathroom that you can imagine yourself in, just so it’s easier for you to purchase and also get influenced in a way,” Muros continues.

For interior designers visiting the space, Muros emphasized the display of Kohler’s flexibility. “Even though they’re mostly curated per collection, there are a lot of configurations with Kohler. You can definitely mix and match them with different finishes and think outside of the box. Since design has been growing more towards monotone or monochromatic colors, we want to make it pop more and use Kohler as an accessory—not just as a fixture in your household.”
