A kitchen is one of the hardest-working spaces in a home. It must withstand daily wear, changing routines, evolving technologies, and shifting lifestyle needs while remaining visually coherent within the larger architectural narrative. While every project has its own requirements, experienced designers often return to a similar set of considerations when evaluating a kitchen. Here […]
Ballet Philippines Presents a Reimagined Adaptation of Peter Pan
Start the holiday season with a treat for the whole family. Enjoy Ballet Philippines’ staging of the beloved classic Peter Pan. This production presents a fresh interpretation that will take the audience on a magical adventure.

“This is an absolutely new version. I specifically didn’t watch any sites to [see] something similar,” Ballet Philippines’ Artistic Director Mikhail “Misha” Martynyuk said in a press conference last November 5 at Waterside at Solaire Resort in Parañaque. The audience can look forward to new and vibrant choreography, enchanting set designs, and beautifully crafted costumes—all reflecting Martynyuk’s creative vision.
Western Tale with Relatable Elements
Created by Scottish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan tells the story of its eponymous hero—a boy who never grows up—and his adventures in Neverland with the Darling siblings Wendy, John, and Michael and other characters. Although the story is set in London, it reflects themes that the Filipino audience can resonate with.

Ballet Philippines President Kathleen Liechtenstein shared that the family closeness, shown in how Wendy takes care of her brothers, is very Filipino. She also added that the positivity of the story connects with the joy of celebrating the Christmas season.
Martynyuk also said that he made his interpretation easy for kids to evoke a natural emotion.
Giving Hope, Inspiration, and Entertainment
Liechtenstein also shared that Ballet Philippines’ Ballet Brigade reached out to the Aetas in Zambales, and they are coming to watch Peter Pan. “Can you imagine that? All these kids [who] never had an inkling what a stage show is…will be watching the show with all the lights and costumes. Can you imagine what impact it will [have] on their lives?” she mused. “It’s a Christmas gift for us, and hopefully they will be given a bolder perspective of the world. And not to lose their culture.”

Ballet Philippines Dance School Director and former Principal Dancer Rhea Bautista narrates excerpts from the book as the dancers perform a teaser of what to expect at the show.
Aligned with Ballet Philippines’ 55th season theme, RELEVÉ, this rendition celebrates the spirit of overcoming challenges, the power of imagination, and belief in the impossible—bringing joy and delight to all ages.

Ballet Philippines’ dancers bring Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and other beloved characters to life in this production.
Watch Peter Pan this December 6, 7, and 8 at The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort Entertainment City. For tickets, visit Ballet Philippines’ official website at www.ballet.ph or purchase through Ticketworld.
